Mary Jo Foley

Mary Jo Foley serves as Senior Director of Client Relations and External Affairs at Western Skies Strategies (WSS), where she provides executive management, leads strategic initiatives, and oversees stakeholder engagement and project delivery for a diverse client base. Known for building strong client relationships and elevating stakeholder voices, Mary Jo crafts external affairs strategies that drive results across multiple industries.

She manages client relationships with government agencies, federal partners, membership bases, media, and the public—representing clients and WSS to foster key partnerships, positive visibility, and organizational growth. Mary Jo coordinates client agreements with federal agencies, focusing on effective collaboration, advancing projects, and ensuring long-term partnership success. Within WSS, she also leads strategic communications, spearheads revenue development, and supports government relations and advocacy to keep client interests front and center.

Mary Jo’s rural upbringing and experience as a wildland firefighter in Eastern Oregon sparked her passion for supporting rural communities. She began her career working with industry groups in membership and communications roles, building a strong foundation in Association management. She holds a Master of Agriculture in Rangeland Ecology and Management, Agricultural Education, and Wildland Fire Ecology, and a bachelor’s degree in Animal and Range Sciences from Oregon State University. While agriculture and natural resources remain a passion, Mary Jo’s versatile skill set benefits organizations across sectors.
